APOLLO'S VISIT TO A CELEBRATION OF MOTHER'S DAY
On 25th March we celebrate Mother's Day in Slovenia . On that day we
usually invite parents to school. Children together with their teacher prepare
a a celebration for their parents. They sing special songs which are dedicated
to their mums and dads, do some short
acts and make little gifts as a token of their love for them. This year children in the class 3b invited
Apollo as their guest to their celebration of Mother’s Day. They created hand-made toys teddy bears.

PASSPORT
TO GREECE with Apollo
On Friday, March 22 2013, there was a “Passport to
Greece” presentation at Slovenian
school. Our Greek mascot Apollo was there too. We saw pictures that teachers Tadeja in Valentina showed us on
Powerpoint projection. Some students prepared posters about Greek history, their
landmarks, cuisine and the ancient Olympic games. We danced the traditional
dance sirtaki and tried the typical Greek food. We played some traditional
games and card games which we brought back from various European partners. The
children had a great time!

Apollo visited our 1st grade pupils on Wednesday 13th March 2013.
The pupils were
happy to see him. They showed him different things they've learnt at their
English class. They have 1 lesson per week and they enjoy learning English.
They learn about
colours, toys, food, body, animals and clothes. They learn songs and games. This
one (in the photo)is called ‘Simon says’ with body parts. For Apollo they sang
a song Head, shoulders, knees and toes.
