Holidays

School Holidays!!!
Children have finished for Christmas, Apollo is going home with a child to celebrate Christmas and New Year.

Snow White - a traditional pantomime!

Can you spot me sitting next to my friend from Ward Green School? I am watching the Year 5 and 6 pantomime. The children acted and sang songs from 'Snow White'. The 7 dwarfs were really funny, especially 'Sleepy' because he kept falling asleep on the stage!

Greetings from Greece!

Christmas in Barnsley! Apollo is having a great time with you!

Here is a picture from Bozuyuk:

Christmas Party Afternoon

Today it is Christmas party day. All the children are allowed to wear their special party clothes and costumes. Here I am with a Christmas elf!

The children pushed their tables together and waited for their party lunch boxes. The chocolate buns and sandwiches were delicious.

In the afternoon we played party games. My favourite was called pass the parcel. The children took turns to take a layer of newspaper off the parcel when the music stopped playing. Here I am helping my friend when she was the lucky person!

Wet Break!

The weather in England is very wet and quite cold at the moment. The children have had to stay inside during break times. They still have lots of fun things to do!    The time went by very quickly with so much to do!

I had fun playing with the marble run.

Here I am playing Snakes and Ladders! Every time I landed on a snake I had to travel back down the board!

Domino Rally was fun, but every time I tried to make a long line the dominoes fell over!

I helped the boys to make pictures with the drawing stencils. My favourite was a circus sheet!

Preparing for Christmas

Preparing for Christmas!!

All the children in school are busy trimming up for Christmas.
We put up the tree, hang on baubles and make christmas cards and decorations to take home.

Can you see me helping with the tinsle?

We have practised our Christmas play and performed it to our parents.  We retold the story of the first Christmas.
We dressed up as shepherds, angels, wise men and stars.

I got a chance to watch it. The angels looked so pretty!

We Three Kings

Today, I spent some more time with class 4. All the classes were getting ready to travel to Saint Thomas' church for the Christmas concert.

Each class had to learn a carol. When all the songs were put together they told the story of Mary and Joseph.

Class 4 had to learn the song about the 3 wise men. For homework they made crowns ready for the journey to church.

We three kings of Orient are

Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.

Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.

Frankincense to offer have I.
Incense owns a Deity nigh.
Prayer and praising all men raising,
Worship Him, God on high.

Myrrh is mine: it's bitter perfume
Breaths a life of gathering gloom.
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.

Glorious now behold Him arise,
King and God and Sacrifice.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Sounds through the earth and skies.

Working in Foundation Stage

At Ward Green Primary School, England

Here Apollo is in the FS2 (reception) classroom.
He is playing on the computer with Nicole.

She is showing him how to count to 20.

Joe is reading Apollo a book about a fish.  Apollo enjoyed this very much!
